Here I Am

about

"Here I Am" is soul searching and spiritual and can be described as a choral folk ballad with soft vocal harmonies and a soothing acoustic accompaniment. Think Nick Cave meets John Martyn with some mellow Simon and Garfunkel thrown in for good measure. The song is emotive, thought-provoking and meaningful and has echoes of a childhood influenced by church music and singing in the picturesque landscape of West Wicklow.

It was recorded and produced by Sean Corcoran of Bikini Island studios, Dublin.

lyrics

Believe me I, I want to believe in you
I’ve tried so hard to get myself in touch with you
I Just need some change, please don’t hide, please don’t hide
I need you this day, please don’t hide, please don’t hide

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Here I am, with an open heart ready to start
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Here I am, Here I am, Here I am

You’re presence in mind, is all I need at this time
A battle I fight, when I try to find peace of mind
I just need some change, please don’t hide, please don’t hide
I need you this day, please don’t hide, please don’t hide

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Here I am, with an open heart ready to start
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Here I am, Here I am, Here I am

Waiting for the sun to come, for your love to break through
Waiting for the one, the one who brings the truth

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Here I am, with an open heart ready to start
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Here I am, Here I am, Here I am
