Every Day

about

“Every Day” is the classic tale of young love and a lost and lonely summer. Graham writes about the all too familiar angst and loss that so many people have felt when a loved one goes away and comes back a changed and different person.

After the successful release of his first two folk songs “A Moment in Time” and “Here I Am” Graham has taken a different approach with “Every Day” and gone for a more rock inspired sound laced with heavy guitar driven choruses and dramatic Ennio Morricone inspired backing vocals. It’s starts slow and soft until it builds into a powerful and cinematic landscape of sound with the main vocal billowing out a feeling of despair and heartbreak.

lyrics

1. You tore my heart apart and left me in the dark
That summer when you felt you needed to leave me
I remember jet black hair, your pixie locks and stare
As you entered a room, all eyes were on you

2. I cried alone at night, without you by my side
That summer when you felt you needed to leave me
I counted every day since you had been away
I hoped and prayed that you Would soon come home to me

Chorus

Every day I missed you
Every day I loved you
Why did you go away?

3. When I heard that you were home, I felt much more alone
Cause you had no interest in meeting or seeing me
So many things had changed but I had stayed the same
You broke my heart in two that summer you left me

Every day I missed you
Every day I loved you
Why did you go away?

Bridge

You left me in a mess
You left me so distressed
No one could be as cold as you

Chorus

Every day I missed you
Every day I loved you
Why did you go away?
